Lucha Libre Crew = Wu Tang Clan

I decided to listen to some classic WU TANG CLAN when something "clicked". As co-creator, writer, and graphic designer, Jerry Frissen is the RZA of the Lucha Libre team. The predominantly African American Wu Tang embraced the (at that time) cult Asian Action Cinema culture and integrated it into their music and visual style. The predominantly European Lucha Libre Crew embraces the culture of Mexican Wrestling and integrates it into the concept and visual style of their comics. The Wu Tang crew had a slew of amazingly talented emcees with a wide range of rhyming and delivery styles. The Lucha Libre crew has a slew of amazingly talented artists with a wide range of linework and design approaches. Need I say more? It's a shame that the first two years of Wu Tang music has been generally forgotten. Their early work was filled with passion, skill, and an aggressiveness that made the music beautifully intimidating.

Tequila And El Panda

This is the page #35 of Tequila. The more I see the young El Panda the more I thing he could make a great toy.

Jack, President of Jack In The Box

A cleverly promoted mascot can do wonders for a company. Just look at what JACK did for JACK IN THE BOX. Jack was reinvented when Jack In The Box fast food restaurants were at the brink of extinction. In 1993, Jack In The Box's undercooked hamburgers led to an e.coli outbreak that caused the death of 4 customers and left several hundred sick. In 1994, the revamped Jack mascot was introduced as the spokesperson for Jack In The Box. He had a dramatic impact on the general public's trust and support for the restaurant chain. Here are two of my favorite Jack commercials.

A Tequila Fan Who Doesn't Like Tequila

I found this story on the KID ROBOT discussion board: "i sold a tequila figure by Muttpop, a guy bought it and paid immediately, so i left a positive feedback and shipped it. a few days later i got a negative feedback because this guy thought he was buying tequila, the alcohol. he didn't contact me about it, didn't read the auction at all apparently, just left a negative feedback. i contacted him and explained that i would be more than happy to take it back and give him a full refund, he declined and said i intentionally misled him. selling alcohol on ebay is illegal, and if you have a problem you are supposed to contact the seller before leaving feedback, ebay didn't care about either of those points and said there was nothing i could do." Some people should drink responsibly... or maybe just learn how to read.

A True Patriot

This truck belongs to a true patriot. Maybe you believe that I took this picture in Baghdad where that courageous man is fighting for his country. If so, you're wrong, he's making that bold statement here, at home, in the tough streets of Beverly Hills, California. On the bumper, you can also notice a NRA sticker.
