UFO

If you've never seen UFO, you should. It was a very cool British science-fiction TV series created, written and produced by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson (THE THUNDERBIRDS, SPACE: 1999) between 1970 and 1973. It's 26 episodes of unbelievable haircuts, amazing cars, designed weapons, crazy interiors, weird clothes, beautiful spaceships and an fairly good story. I found a great website about it where you can see some clips, hear some sound effects, etc. After checking it out, I guarantee you'll ask your girlfriend to wear a purple wig!

Louis

Yesterday, I was telling you about the fight between Tequila and Louis. Thanks to Jude, here's the picture of Louis, the monster who was defeated by Tequila... Well, at least, that's my understanding of the story.

Tequila vs. Louis

I just found this on eBay. Here's the text who goes with the auction: "This figure was a Vinyl Pulse Exclusive and was limited to a mere 333 copies and released on the most evil date of the millenium, 6/6/06!!. It SOLD OUT within hours of it's release. Stands over 8" and includes soft vinyl poncho that can be removed to show off El Brujo's totally ripped and tattooed torso. Comes in a beautiful box also designed by Mr Kozik. IMPORTANT!!! This menacing warrior was brutally attacked by my French Bulldog, Louis, who devoured Tequila's right foot. Though the rest of him is unscathed, Tequila is quite shaken up about the whole ordeal, and is looking for a happy, stable home in which to recuperate for his next battle..." Tequila seems to be in pretty good shape after that kind of fight! By the way, here's the link, in case somebody would want to buy this survivor. If the seller sees this post, he can send me a picture of Louis, I would love to post it!

Muttpop Luchadores On Lupe's "I Got Cha"

We've gotten a little love from rapper Lupe Fiasco. He's showing his love for the Vinyl Toy scene in his newest video for the Neptune's produced "I Got Cha" single. It's a fun little song and there's a little scene where Lupe Fiasco is rhyming in front of his Vinyl Toy collections, amongst the toys are a Tequila Original, El Panda Original, and El Panda Classico.
Can you find them? :-)

Luchita Payol

This is a fantastic font made out of old Lucha Libre posters. It comes in two weights and has tons of cool dingbats. It's designed by Mauro Oliver and Claudio Pousada at Santotipo. You can download it here. They also have a font called Tequila...

Bazooka

In Paris, 1974, a group of young artists created the BAZOOKA art movement. They were smoking a lot of pot, taking LSD and decided to kick some media ass! They self-published some of the most disturbing news magazines ever. Two issues of one of their magazines was forbidden to people under 18, even though a few of the artists that worked on the issues in question were minors, themselves. In 1977, they were hired by the French newspaper called LIBERATION to design the newspaper and comment on the news. Since they had complete freedom, they used the newspaper to publish very violent and graphic pictures. They also constantly fought with other journalists. In 1978, they published their own magazine, UN REGARD MODERNE, which failed after six issues of publication. Here are some samples of their amazing work.

Sazen Tange And Zatoichi

When Gobi is not doing his pages -like he should- you can be sure he's getting drunk in his favorite bar. But when the bar is closed and he's still not doing his pages, it's because he's drawing some of his favorite Japanese characters like Sazen Tange or Zatoichi.
